School

Green Valley Christian High School is a comprehensive three-year private high school enrolling 8 students in grades 9 through 11.  The school opened in the fall of 2007 and has plans to begin offering a 12th grade program in the 2010-2011 school year.  Green Valley Christian High School is dedicated to serving our families with excellence and a character filled education that promotes high academic achievement and strong Christian character development. Our endeavor is to prepare our students for college and ultimately for life. Through our program students are encouraged to develop a deeper relationship with Christ and to develop spiritually, mentally and physically. A list of curriculum is outlined as follows:

Accreditation

We are in the process of being accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International. We are working closely with ACSI representatives to ensure a smooth process.

International Baccalaureate - DP

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program is a challenging two-year curriculum, primarily aimed at students in their Junior and Senior years of high school. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world’s leading universities. We have turned in our Application A and B and are currently considered a candidate school. We do anticipate being accepted into the program by 2010- 2011.

Advanced Program

While we are waiting to become an IB school in the Diploma Program we currently offer AP World History to our 10th graders and will offer AP US History, and English Literature to our 11th graders in 2009-2010.

Honors

Ninth graders are offered Algebra II, English Literature, World Geography, Health Biology and Spanish II on an Honors level. They are also offered Physical Education, Art and an elective of their choice (Ceramics, Dance, Worship Band, Video, Journalism or Student Leadership)

Tenth Graders are offered Advanced Math, English Literature, Chemistry and Spanish III at the Honors level. They are offered Physical Education, Art and an elective of their choice (Ceramics, Dance, Worship Band, Video, Journalism or Student Leadership)
