Dear Parents, Guardians and Bright Young Minds,

 

This is Pastor Steve Withey and Pastor Brian Hendrickson from GV Christian Center. We are writing you now to inform you of some exciting news of recent developments here at Green Valley Christian Preparatory School and Green Valley Christian High School.

 

First off we are excited to tell you that we have stepped in as interim Co-Directors for the Prep and High School. While the search goes on for the permanent person to fill this position, we feel that God has called us to step in to cast the vision, to communicate the mission and to establish the foundation of GVCPS and GVCHS as essential extensions of the ministry of GV Christian Center as a whole. Rest assured we are both committed to be here for as long as it takes to do this job right.

 

As Pastors on staff here at GV Christian Center, we know the vision, the mission, the heart and the philosophy of our church and of our Pastor, Gary Morefield. We want to bring that to the Prep and High School and help to establish a strong sense of community that goes far beyond school spirit and in to the realms of unity, love and commitment that only can be found in family. At GV Christian, we are all family.

 

We want GVCPS and GVCHS to be a place where you and your kids Look Forward to School. We will be working diligently to create an air of joy, fun and good humor, as well as to deliver a solid learning environment, so that the students who attend here will be so excited that they will drag their parents in each morning (rather than the other way around) and will not want to miss school for fear of what they might miss out on.

 

Look Forward to School is not a tagline. It’s not a gimmick. It’s not an advertising scheme. It is our heart for every student that is now and will be a part of GV Christian Schools.

 

Briefly we also want to report on a concrete testament to God working in, through and for our school that can only truly be explained in the term, “Greater Things.”

 

As many of you know, a little over one year ago the Board of Directors at Green Valley Christian Center and the Governing Body of Voting Members unanimously approved a $12.5 million building project that would have included a new Worship Center, large multi-purpose rooms, new office space and most importantly for you, a new education wing for the Prep and High School. This building project was titled Greater Things, because that is what we felt God was calling all of us to as a church and a school.

 

Over the course of the last couple of months God has done a series of Miracles, opening the door for GVCC to shift a portion of what had already been approved for this future construction to purchase a plot of property with an already existing building which will become the GV Christian Student Ministries Center and will house the Prep School, High School, and the Youth Ministries of GV Christian Center. No three year capital campaign to raise initial funds, no 18-24 month construction period after that. IT’S DONE! And the plan is to move in before the beginning of the Spring 2010 Semester.

 

For Green Valley Christian Preparatory School and High School the time of Greater Things is NOW!

 

You hold the future in the palm of your hand. You have the gifts, the talents, abilities and the potential within you to change the world. You are capable of Greater Things than you could ever imagine. We have a deep and sincere desire to help you awaken Greater Things in your life.

 

We would like to invite you and your family to join us on Thursday, August 13th, at 7:00 PM for a night that we are calling, “Greater Things for Green Valley Christian Prep and High School.” There we will explain in more detail and answer any questions you may have about the amazing future of our schools, as well as show you the future site of our Prep and High School. Please join us. Coffee and dessert will be served.
