END OF THE YEAR AWARDS CEREMONY - In the Worship Center at the main building from 6:30-8:30PM
This is a semi-formal event with each student being featured and awarded in their accomplishments for the school year of 2011-2012. Come hungry for dessert and bring your cameras!
SPANISH PROGRAM - In the Back Lot on May 22, 2012 @ 2:30PM
Come see your child perform in Spanish and prepared to laugh!
STANDARDIZED TESTING WEEK - May 14th-18th
Be well rested, have a good breakfast and be on time. All results will be sent home with the 4th quarter report cards. We are as excited as our parents to see the results. Year after year we are amazed by our students test scores!
ASCI SCIENCE FAIR WINNER!
Congratulations to our amazing GV Christian Prep & High School student, Shiloh Johnston, who got 1st place at the ACSI District Science Fair! Out of all the other schools and students competing in our district we ranked on top again!
ACSI GEOGRAPHY BEE

Our students took 2nd, 3rd and 4th place at the Geography Bee! Congratulations to Harlee Miscovich (2nd place), Cameron Hauser (3rd place), and Daniel Percival (4th place). To make you aware of the magnitude of this event, a student from Salt Lake City took 1st place. We are so very proud of our students!
FINE ARTS FESTIVAL
Our students were amazing!!! Of the 120 total participants in Southern Nevada 52 total participants were from GV Christian and 21 of our students achieved Superior rating with invitation to Nationals in Louisville, KY. Of the 11 Merit Medal (exceptional) winners in the entire competition 8 were from GV Christian. Of the 4 students chosen to perform at the Closing Awards Ceremony, 3 were from GV Christian. Those going to Nationals will compete alongside 15,000 other students from all over the US. We are extremely proud of our GV Christian students! Way to go!!!!

Monday, March 26th - Time Travel Day/Dress up in your favorite time period or someone famous from the past.

Tuesday, March 27th - Abnormal Facial Hair Day/Be creative with this one, assumng you can’t grow facial hair yet.

Wednesday, March 28th - Music Genre Day/Come to school looking like a rapper, a famous rockstar, or musician.

Thursday, March 29th -Pajama Day/Be comfortable and cozy in your pajamas and slippers all day.

Friday, March 30th - Super Secret Spy Day/Come dressed as a spy, but no snooping around the school allowed.

FINE ARTS FESTIVAL
Each year, over 65,000 junior and senior high school students begin preparing their entries for the District and National Fine Arts Festivals. Students may enter in as many as 61 categories offered in 8 main divi- sions: Art, Communication, Dance, Drama, Exhibition, Instrumental, Vocal, and Writing. The Theme is: Relentless - After the One (The Parable of the Lost Sheep)
Be on the look out for the information regarding the Fine Arts Festival. This is an opportunity for your child to earn scholarship money towards college! More information is soon to follow!
THE STUDENT WEEKLY
Three of our GV Christian Prep & High students will be working together to create our very own student run newspaper. They will be coordinating our student paper until we get our Journalism Club going next year. The first issue will be released soon!
VALENTINE’S DAY

We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day from 2:25-3:10 on Tuesday, February 14th. The Student Council wants to have crafts during our party. We are looking for 4 parents who are willing to provide a craft station for our students during this time.
706 DEDICATION
We will be formally dedicating our amazing new building on Thursday, February 23rd. The Honorable Mayor Hafen will be joining us in this celebration and a reception will follow in the BackLot (chapel). Parents, you as always, are invited to join us in this celebration.
